Since this site is about them, I suppose we should start by giving a little background to those of you who don't know them. Playful Carolina Couple was the internet identiy of Michael and Jessie, a married couple in the Charlotte, NC area. It would be fair to describe them as serious exhibitionists, since much of their sexual activity took place in public or semi-public places. More than that, they would write about their encounters and publish those stories on the internet. They had their own website which not only featured their stories and pictures, but also gave a place for likeminded people to post their own experiences. Most things revolved around adult bookstores (gloryholes) and theaters, but they also wrote about strip clubs, parking lots, restaurants and other public places.

The fascination was in watching the couple develop from fairly "straight" people into a loving couple heavily involved in the lifestyle. Sometimes Jessie herself would write. Hearing her thoughts as a woman who knew what she liked and wasn't ashamed of it was a turn on for many guys and an encouragement for many other women. (I for one was able to get a lady to accompany me to the local adult bookstores after introducing her to Jessie's writing). Their site eventually became a place for advice as well as stimulation. They wrote guidelines for couples and men in theaters and bookstores. They offered advice on getting your wife or girlfriend involved. I personally chatted with them on more than one occasion (online). They were a lot of fun.

About a year ago they disappeared. There are all kinds of rumors as to what happened to them. Interestingly, a number of them come from people who claim to know them intimately. I have been told, or read, all of the following: they divorced, they moved, Michael went to Iraq, Jessie left him for a black guy, they had a baby, Jessie left him for a girl, Michael is now living with a teenaged girl, they were arrested for publishing porn on the internet, they were really just sociologists doing an experiment and they finished, and a few other things that I can't recall at the moment. The one rumor that seems to "have legs" as they say, is that someone began to stalk them - or at least Jessie. As a result, they simply stopped going out in public, pulled their website and effectively vanished from the cyber horizon. After talking with dozens of people, reading scores of posts, and reflecting on my own experiences with them, I suspect that the truth lies closest to that explanation. They clearly loved each other very much, and I think their age would have made Iraq or a baby improbable - unless he were an officer or CIA, in which case we have a new rumor!
